Run for the Cure holds Bra Day
The CIBC Run for the Cure Simcoe is looking for a special kind of support.
The organization with be holding a Bra Day, collecting bras for a cause. Organizers are hoping to receive new or gently used bras to be donated to local women in need.
“It’s our twentieth anniversary and we just wanted to do something to give back to the community,” said Gail Catherwood, an organizer of the event.
Anyone hoping to donate can go to the bright pink tent that will be set up beside Bev’s Chip Wagon on Culver Street in Simcoe on Aug. 21. Donations will be collected from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Bras that are donated will be sorted at the Norfolk Association for Community Living, and then distributed to organizations such as the Pregnancy Centre and women’s shelter.
Pickup locations for anyone looking to receive one of the donated bras will be posted on the CIBC Run for the Cure Simcoe Facebook page.
