Norfolk’s general manager of development and cultural services will assume new responsibilities in Brant County next month.
Pam Duesling was appointed general manager last year. Prior to that, she was Norfolk’s manager of community planning.
“My last day will be Sept. 3 in Norfolk County,” Duesling said Thursday. “My new position will be a lateral move as the general manager of development services.”
Norfolk County will turn its attention to filling the vacancy created by Duesling’s departure once it taps someone to serve as interim chief administrative officer.
At a special meeting this week, Norfolk council agreed to hire an interim CAO to take the place of Harry Schlange, who moves on to become the CAO of the Town of Grimsby after Labour Day. Norfolk council went into closed session Wednesday to discuss potential candidates.
“We will be appointing a new interim CAO — more to come,” Mayor Kristal Chopp said in an email. “It will be his role to build his own team and fill that position and determine whether or not we will need some structural changes to that department.”
